Mrs. GaughenbaughMrs. Kathy Gaughenbaugh

A 31 year teaching veteran, Mrs. Gaughenbaugh is a product of Catholic education. She currently serves as fifth grade homeroom teacher in addition to chairing the science department and teaching science to middle schoolers in grades 5 through 8. Mrs. Gaughenbaugh has been involved in many committees over the years and has been an Induction Mentor for severa new teachers at St. Columba School.

Mrs. Lori Coombe

Mrs. Lori Coombe is the homeroom teacher for the sixth grade class. In addition to teaching Religion and ILA to the sixth graders, she is also the Middle School (Grades 5 through 8) Social Studies teacher and the school’s Social Studies curriculum coordinator.

Mrs. Coombe coordinates the annual Geography Bee for St. Columba School and is interested in helping to reorganize the Culture Club. She has been attending professional development workshops to support the school’s bullying prevention program.

Mrs. Coombe earned her teaching certificate and a B.S. degree from Bloomsburg University.  A native of the area, she currently lives in Danville with her husband, Chris, and their three children where they are members of St. Joseph's parish. In her free time, Mrs. Coombe likes to spend time with her family camping and enjoying other outdoor activities.   

spotts Mr. Shane Spotts

Shane Spotts is the homeroom teacher for the seventh and eighth graders. In addition to teaching seventh and eighth grade ILA, Mr. Spotts is the Middle School Mathematics teacher, and the school’s Math curriculum coordinator.
Mr. Spotts earned a B.S. degree from Bloomsburg University in the field of Education. He is a native of the Pottsville area, and he currently resides in Bloomsburg. In his free time, Mr. Spotts enjoys coaching baseball, umpiring, fishing, and participating in other outdoor activities. 

 

Helen M. McMenamin, I have taught at St. Columba since 2008 in part time
positions.  I am currently teaching 7/8th religion.
I retired from public school teaching in 2007.  I worked mainly in Benton
Elementary with Learning Support Children. I have a Masters and Bachelors
degree in Special Education. I am also a certified Reading specialist.  I
grew up in Kulpmont Pa.  I attended St. Casimir's elem. for 8 years, and
Our Lady of Lourdes In Shamokin for High School.  I am currently working
towards a certification in religion.  I live in Bloomsburg with my husband
of 32 years,Jim, I have 2 children, James and Jessica, and a six year old
grandson Hughie.  I am a parishioner at St. Columba Church.
